Summer Is Here What Can We Do?

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

So far the summer has been very hot and sunny. But you don’t want to bet against English weather as we all know. People in the UK die for hot weather hence most people are always going abroad to enjoy milder and sunnier weather. As soon as summer arrives we are all looking to do outdoor activities. Some enjoy going for a swim in the local swimming pools or the beach. Some like to have bbq parties to enjoy the mild and sunny weather with their friends and family. Season for cricket also starts in the summer in UK, so a lot of people enjoy watching and playing cricket over the weekend.

As you can see above there are so many things to do and so little time. I will be listing out which activities are widely used by UK citizens during summer. The research in the past has shown that, swimming pools are used double amount by the same people in summer than winter. Swimming is definitely one of the best recommendations as it is also good for your body.

Another cool research shows that summer time is the biggest spending time for the parents. Kids are always looking for new outdoor toys to play with during the summer time. Climbing frames, wooden play sets and trampolines are sold on a regular basis in the UK. A lot of households these days have outdoor toys like trampolines in their back garden. The good thing about this is that parents won’t have to worry where their kids are when they are sun bathing or having a bbq party at the back garden because the kids can play in their outdoor toys.

Many people have started getting above ground pools in their property nowadays so they don’t have to visit the gym everyday. Yes you do require swimming pool equipments such as pool covers and swimming pool chemicals, but it’s worth it.

So swim to stay fit and healthy this summer.

Fleas Can Get A Stronghold On You, Set Yourself Free With The Flea Pest Control Company

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

THE BABY IS ARRIVING! We are all so excited with the coming of the baby. The newest addition to our house. The youngest of the siblings. We brought down the crib from the attic and after cleaning it, had it placed in the baby’s room. My Dad forego his calling to the flea pest control company because the house was so clean already.

Our parents arrived proudly cradling our cute baby sister. She looks so gorgeous. Her baby skin is so smooth and delicate. Our baby sister’s skin is still so sensitive, our parents warned us not to kiss her in the face. Kissing her on the face will irritate her skin. Just wait a little longer. No matter if we cannot kiss her, we still had so much fun playing with her. We took turns looking after her as Mom and Dad rested. Mom gave her thumbs-up approval for the “perfect house cleaning”. My Dad saw no need to tell her, he didn’t have the house treated by a flea pest control company.

The baby was brought into her room comes the night. We said our goodnight to the baby, one by one. Being the youngest, I was the last to go inside. I took a quick glance at my Mom. Seeing my Mom looking the other way, I stole a kiss on my sister. With a beatific smile, I walked out of the room.

During the night, we were fast awaken by the baby’s crying. Everybody ran to the baby’s room. Our Mom got there first and brought the baby to her to stop her crying. Soon the baby stopped crying. Mom showed us the reason for her crying. Her cheek was irritated and probably itchy. This time, I was the one crying. It was their turn to be surprised. In between sobs, I told them it was my fault. I told them I secretly kissed our baby sister when Mom was not looking. My mother beckoned me and said she was very glad that I told her the truth and for being brave about it. Then she turned to us and said, “It’s not your fault nor anybody’s fault”.. A flea or some pest have bitten her on the cheek. It was now Dad’s time to squirm in his place. He finally admitted not calling the flea pest control company. So now, he knows, he made a big mistake. The very next day, Mom and Dad called the plea pest control company and made and appointment. We were finally relieved when the treatment was finished successfully. All’s well that ends well.

Raging Russian Fires Add To The Misery Of A Heat Wave And Drought

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

In a great portion of Russian territory, fires triggered by a record heat wave and drought are burning out of control. The death toll from Russian fires was 48 as of Aug. 6 and entire villages have been consumed by flames. Moscow was suffocating under a toxic blanket of smoke and 4,000 people have lost their residences. In certain areas, nuclear contamination from the Chernobyl disaster locked up within the trees could be re-released by the fires. The Russian government has come under rare public criticism for being slow and ill-outfitted to fight the fires.

Russian fires add to summer of disaster

More than 1.6 million acres in Russia have burnt since the fires began, the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry said. More than 155,000 personnel have been mobilized to fight the fires. The Wall Street Journal reports that more than 400 new fires surfaced even as 293 were put out. As of Aug. 6, a total of 520 fires were burning across the country. Russia’s worst drought in 30 years and a record heat wave that lead to the fires won’t end anytime soon. Searing heat will continue, with some parts of the country reaching up to 107 degrees, until at least Aug. 12.

Russian government feels the heat

Public anger reached the boiling point as the Russian government struggled to get the fires under control. The Financial Times reports the Russian fires underscore the Russian government’s inability to protect its citizens from both natural and man-made disasters. Russia nevertheless labors under corrupt governance, a sloppy safety precautions and a crumbling infrastructure, besides a trillion-plus dollar economy fueled by energy revenues. The lives lost are much higher in Russia than in other countries where such fires occur, Nikolay Petrov of the Carnegie Moscow Centre told the Times, since the system is “absolutely dysfunctional”. Petrov said that under the “super-centralized” political apparatus installed by Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin, communication was far too slow to be effective.

Fires threaten Russian nuclear contamination across Europe

Russian fires are also raising concern about the threat of nuclear contamination. AFP reports that radioactive cesium 137 from the 1986 Chernobyl disaster is locked up in the trees and dead leaves in forests in certain areas of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. Philippe Renaud, head of the environmental radiation laboratory at France’s IRSN nuclear safety institute, said If trees in those areas burn, the Russian nuclear contamination would be released to the air where it might be breathed in by individuals as far away as France.

Lobbyists Argue To Deteriorate New Mortgage Rules In Financial Reform

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

Tuesday the US House and Senate plan to start refining mortgage legislation. The legislation would try to enforce the biggest overhaul to mortgage lending rules in decades. The mortgage legislation, which is actually part of the financial reform bill, is intended to end the risky lending practices blamed for causing the financial crisis. Mortgage industry lobbyists are trying to take the teeth out of provisions that would protect consumers and limit the industry’s ability to discover loopholes in underwriting standards.

Article Resource: Lobbyists fight to weaken new mortgage rules in financial reform by Personal Money Store

You will find mortgage rules that prevent an additional financial crisis

Proposed changes to some mortgage lending rules contain new rules for loan repayment, the ability to sue your lender for some poorly underwritten mortgages, revised appraisal rules and rules about how much risk lenders must share on the loans they sell to investors. Housing Watch reports that these rules will affect how costly mortgages could be and what types of mortgages can be offered by lenders. One of the key new rules mortgage industry lobbyists want to undermine calls for many of the lenders to hold a 5 percent stake in loans that are bundled and sold with other loans. Those bundles are the mortgage-backed securities that imploded financial disaster.

Are the mortgage lenders going to behave?

With mortgage legislation that demands that all lenders will hold a stake, the idea is that they will act a lot more professionally with their underwriting. When lenders sold their risk along with their loans, they were very careless and handed out many loans which were destined for default. It was reported by the Wall Street Journal that mortgage industry lobbyists want to exempt mortgages from the 5 percent risk-retention requirement if the loans fully document a borrower’s income and assets and do not contain interest-only payments, negative amortization or balloon payments. Exempt loans would also have to cap certain mortgage-origination fees at 3 percent of the loan.

New rules on a lot more costly mortgages?

Banks say new mortgage lending rules about risk retention are likely to make mortgages more costly for consumers because banks will be required to hold a lot more capital, a challenge for smaller lenders. But Housing Watch explained that consumer groups support “encouraging the market” to sell safer products. New mortgage lending rules can make a lot more paperwork for borrowers, however they already push a lot of paper trying to get loans in today’s constricted credit markets. More diligence from banks about entirely verifying a borrower’s income to prevent default should be good for everyone.

Being able to protect borrowers from predators

New mortgage lending rules will consist of compensation guidelines that prevent lenders from making a lot more money by making riskier loans. This provision of the financial reform bill would make sure there are lender-paid commissions based on the rate or type of loan. As outlined by the Wall Street Journal, brokers say the rule would make it harder for them to compete with banks, reduce competition and raise costs for consumers. Consumer advocates say the changes will make it easier for borrowers to shop for loans and compare prices. Barry Zigas, director of housing policy for the Consumer Federation of The United States told the Journal the new provisions will shift the burden of proof “from the consumers having to protect themselves from unreasonable fees to the providers of services justifying their costs.”

Saving from themselves mortgage lenders

Other new mortgage rules that are being fought include limiting the fees mortgage lenders charge if a borrower refinances the loan or pays it off early. They also do not like the rule that calls for them to prove that it is within the borrower’s best interest to finance a loan, instead of just pushing a new loan to benefit from additional fees or commissions. Finally, mortgage lenders really just don’t want borrowers to be able to sue them if they violate the new mortgage rules. Industry lobbyists think that this would make purchasing mortgages too risky for investors.

Summer Is Good For Cruise Holidays

Saturday, August 14th, 2010

MSC Fantasia Cruise Ship

Several people go on luxury cruises trip with family and friends. Many have often questioned what time of the year is the best time to go on a luxury cruise. To be honest it all depends on the cruiseline you select to travel with. For people from US and UK the best place to travel in summer is definitely Bahamas or the Mediterranean and in winter travelling to South Africa would be a good idea as it will be summer there.

One of the biggest reason for people choosing summer time is certainly because of the sun and warm weather. For people in the UK they want to go on a cruise and get some sun as they don’t get much sun in the UK as it’s always cloudy. So those people are always looking out for sunshine when they go on a cruise or any other holiday. Cruising is also very relaxing you would be able to relax under the sun in the cruise itself in a beautiful horizon of an ocean. The views you can see while you are cruising of the ocean, sunrise and the sunset is absolutely brilliant in my opinion, and if I am not wrong then there might be lots of people agreeing with me.

Cruise lines such as MSC cruises, Royal Caribbean cruises, Cunard cruises and Voyages of discovery are the best cruises to choose from if you are looking for a summer cruise. It does depend on the destination you choose when cruising. People have different choices when it comes to going on a cruise. Some prefer winter cruise but many prefer summer cruises. This post just gives an idea on why people prefer summer break other than winter break. Warm weather and the sun plays a huge part when it comes to people choosing a cruise, hence I have explained it above on why?
